INDUSTRY:

Automotive Client: Tier 1 automotive supplier

SCOPE OF SERVICES:

  • DOOR-TO-DOOR Line Feeding

  • PLANNING AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE LOGISTICS REAL ESTATE FACILITY

  • AUTOMATION AND DIGITALIZATION CONCEPT

  • INBOUND AND OUTBOUND PROCESSING

SPECIAL FEATURE:

The entire logistics real estate was planned and built by Lila. Collaboration: Long-standing, established, and continuously evolving.

INITIAL SITUATION & CHALLENGE

The client’s goal was to establish a logistics center with a direct connection to production. The requirements included a sustainable, flexible logistics concept that did not interfere with production processes, as well as a reliable Just-in-Time supply system. Additionally, the project had to enable production growth through the optimization of existing logistics space.

THE SOLUTION

A Digital Door-to-Door Line Feeding System

  • Planning and implementation of a standalone logistics center with a direct connection to production at the site
  • Establishment of a door-to-door Line Feeding system (planned and built by Lila)
  • Integration of an automated small-parts warehouse (AKL) as a central component of the logistics concept
  • Implementation of a WMS (Körber) as a prerequisite and foundation for automated operations
  • Implementation of a comprehensive automation and digitization strategy for inbound and outbound processing
  • Implementation of a supplier returnable container program to ensure a structured and reliable supply
  • Implementation of customized packaging and shipping services as an integral part of the logistics solutions
  • Continuous adaptation and optimization of key processes throughout the collaboration

THE RESULT

Measurable increases in productivity, quality, and resource utilization

A key milestone was the implementation of the entire automation and digitization concept. Key takeaway: Through continuous optimization and consistent collaboration between the client and the service provider, an ideal logistics setup can be achieved.

Increasing logistics performance while simultaneously reducing logistics space and headcount through end-to-end supply chain analysis and process optimization.

Enabling the expansion of production space without building additional logistics areas.

Significant efficiency gains through automation and digitalization initiatives as well as real-time controlling.

Measurable improvements in key metrics – space, staffing, output – during ongoing operations.

High process stability and quality through a consistent zero-defect principle, driven by OEM requirements.

The fact that we are now achieving higher output with significantly less floor space and fewer employees is the result of a long-term, collaborative partnership with our customer. Key to this success is our consistent focus on automation and digital control in our logistics operations, as well as our continuous adaptation to our customer’s requirements.
