INITIAL SITUATION & CHALLENGE
Historically Evolved Complexity—Consolidated Without Loss of Knowledge
The initial situation was characterized by a logistics structure that had evolved over time, featuring multiple warehouse locations surrounding the production site, diverse material flows, and high operational complexity. At the same time, requirements continued to evolve: rising production volumes, new engine variants, additional pre-assembly services, and sensitive development and sales parts with demand that was virtually impossible to predict.
The goal was to consolidate this diversity—without losing expertise, with maximum process stability, and adaptable at any time to new market and product requirements.
THE SOLUTION
Centralized control of six systems with one partner
- Centralized management of six systems with a single partner: Consolidating all logistics- and production-related services under one central point of contact—ensuring clear lines of responsibility and stable processes across all areas
- Production-Related Logistics & Pre-Assembly: Integrated pre-assembly, including component assembly and quality-related inspection processes, as an integral part of Line Feeding
- Multi-Site Operations & Intralogistics: Management of multiple locations, internal transportation, and shuttle systems to ensure timely supply to production, development, and sales
- Support for Development and Sales Departments: Flexible handling of development and sales components with high quality standards and short response times
- Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) of Specific Equipment: Development and use of process-supporting equipment such as workpiece carriers, scanner holders, and assembly aids for Pre-assembly—manufactured in-house and approved by the OEM for use in the process
- Continuous development: Gradual expansion of service offerings over the years—tailored to changing market, product, and production requirements
