Automated small parts picking is based on two approaches: automated small parts warehouses (AKL) provide the goods, pick-by-light or pick-by-voice support the picker with targeted picking. Both approaches can be used individually or in combination, depending on requirements.

The warehouse and distribution processes are mapped via a warehouse management system and connected to customer ERP systems such as SAP. This means that stock, order and status data is available consistently and transparently.
