On the occasion of the donation presentation for the 2021 LILA LOGISTIK Charity Cup, the organizer, city administration, and main sponsor met with representatives of the charitable organizations in the conference room of Öschelbronn City Hall. “It was a wonderful day that we were able to experience,” said Gäufelden Mayor Benjamin Schmid, commenting on the strong response to the event, which drew a total of over 930 participants. Schmid noted that the event was also very well received by the local community. According to the mayor of Gäufelden, speaking with an expert eye, this was “certainly also due to the high ‘concentration of celebrities.’” Among them were sports legends such as soccer World Cup champion Guido Buchwald, who was even able to sign 1990 World Cup jerseys. In addition to ski jumping world champion Alexander Herr, who also attended the donation ceremony in Öschelbronn, cycling legends such as Olaf Ludwig, Steffen Wesemann, Kai Hundertmarck, and biathlon world champion Simone Hauswald were in attendance. “Tatort” detective Richy Müller also got on his bike. According to Schmid, it was a moving moment when Peter Freudenthaler of Fools Garden began singing the global hit “Lemon Tree” a cappella, and everyone present joined in.

In Öschelbronn, donations were distributed to regional organizations such as the Böblingen Child Protection Association, the toddler group at Tennental in Deckenpfronn, the Lebensweg Illingen family shelter, the Waldhaus Youth Welfare Center in Jettingen, and the Marienkäfer daycare center run by Lebenshilfe Herrenberg. The equine therapy company Hestura from Aidlingen was able to put the money directly toward the purchase of a new therapy horse. A donation also benefited the municipality of Gäufelden; according to Schmid, they plan to use this money to set up a soccer field in Tailfingen. The Öschelbronn Cycling Club also received a check for its “Aktion Steilkurve” project, which gives children with disabilities “a wonderful day” at the velodrome on special track bikes. The RSV also received a check for its youth programs. A total of an impressive 42,000 euros was donated to charitable organizations during the donation ceremony for the LILA LOGISTIK Charity Cup in Öschelbronn.

This year, the 16th LILA LOGISTIK Charity Bike Cup will once again take place in Ditzingen-Heimerdingen—scheduled for October 3, 2022.
