Müller - Die lila Logistik SE acquires 100% of the shares in the Sigloch Group and further expands its portfolio of solutions to include the book and media sectors as well as e-commerce.
On October 26, 2022, we signed the purchase agreement for the acquisition of Sigloch Distribution GmbH & Co. KG, based in Blaufelden, and the commercial property it uses, including the Logistics Service Center (LSC), as well as Sigloch Distribution k.s. based in Horšovský Týn (Czech Republic), including the Logistics Service Center (LSC) operated there.
Sigloch Distribution is one of the leading logistics service providers in the book and media industry in Germany and offers services in Publishing Logistics, E-Fulfillment, direct marketing, retail logistics, and fashion and lifestyle logistics, as well as e-commerce solutions.
As contract logistics providers, we complement each other perfectly. Due to our respective different industry focuses, there has been virtually no overlap in our client bases to date. This offers the opportunity to provide each new client with a range of value-added services (direct marketing, E-Fulfillment, e-shop, returns and Accounts receivable management on the one hand, and assembly, installation, production logistics, and waste disposal on the other) to each new client, thereby generating significant long-term growth potential for the new combined company.
Our Lila Logistik team is thus growing by around 700 to a total of 2,400 employees: domestically. In addition, the Logistics Service Center (LSC) in Blaufelden can be expanded by approximately 30,000 square meters from its current 85,000 square meters, and the one in the Czech Republic by approximately 12,000 square meters from its current 17,000 square meters, offering significant growth potential.
At a time when logistics space is scarce in the region, these two expansion opportunities at Sigloch’s German and Czech locations also have a positive impact on our growth plans. The existing geographic footprint—with locations in Germany, the Czech Republic, and Poland—could hardly be more ideal for us.
Michael Müller, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Müller - Die lila Logistik SE, commented on the acquisition, saying: “We are very pleased to welcome Sigloch and its employees—a highly competent company—on board at LILA LOGISTIK. I look forward to our future collaboration.”
Christoph Schaupp, managing partner of the Sigloch Group, adds: “In Müller – Lila Logistik, we have found a partner that will provide us with immense support in further developing our services and meeting the challenges of the future.”
